A BIG Congratulations to Amanda Craven for being published in Frame Magazine
As a photographer, all of my concept and themes are not influenced by other photographers work, I am more inspired by music. Music plays the biggest part of my life, I grew up listening to The Beatles, Instrumentals and Filipino folks songs . Thus, I am inspired to create a photograph around a musical theme, and I tend to zone out, and able to envision the after product before, I start shooting the model.
Amanda and I planned our shoot in advance, with little instructions, but a link to a Lenny Kravtiz song called "Believe" Now, I can share, with you the Bullshit and fine white linings of a story telling a lie. But this, I can tell you, the lyrics of the music was not really important, when I heard the music on Pandora, but the tempo of it was captivating. I saw colors, lights, dramatic scenes, unicorns and rainbows, as far, as the eyes could see.....
Opppps Let me stop myself here.. That sounds too mellow dramatic. What I really saw and felt was the era, through the music of The Rolling Stones, Jimmy Hendrix, AC/DC, Motley Crue, Led Zeppelin.. I saw the aftermath of Sex, Drugs and Rock n" Roll .
Post Production to "Believe"
AND THEN.... There was "Pinky" that got Amanda, balling in laughter..
The process of simplicity.
